Had an amazing time at New Years Furry Ball 2024. Actually spent an extra few days thanks to the extended room block. It made it feel like a mini convention. King Gourd and I got to hitch a ride on Jay Gryphon's Japanese fire truck. We also got to cruise in an absolutely stellar Crazy Taxi!

Had an absolute blast at MFF 2023. I lucked out and got a room in the main hotel this year. The room lottery was the deciding factor if I was going to go or not. A mind boggling 15,547 furries attended, making it the largest furry convention in history!

So happy to go back to Pittsburgh to attend Anthrocon. Such a great city and such a great con! I had grand ambitions to make a really cool convention video but I was having so much fun the whole time, I didn't really have a chance to grab a camera. So leave it to me to start recording when closing ceremonies was going on.

I was super excited to finally get back to MFF this year. MFF 2019 was the very last convention I attended before the pandemic happened and to be back and to see everyone was such a thrill. As of the posting of this video, MFF 2022 is officially the largest physical furry convention in the world with 13,641 attendees and I was so happy to be a part of it.

    Get Windows 10 :LTSC on there and it'll last you for many years. That's now a solid and potent video workstation. Nice job. Vegas / Davinci I belive both can use GPUs to assist with rendering, so you will get mileage out of upgrading to a 20 or 30 series RTX card for that.

    i'm a nut for physical media too. i never stopped. even back in the napster days i was only downloading for preview's sake. or obscurity. those 12" promo only remixes and whatnot. when itunes came out i was confused as to why anyone would spend 9.99 for 128 kbps files when you could get the cd of lossless 1411 kbps for the same price (at that time... sigh). and have the ability to make your very own 128 kbps files. or 256. or 320. cbr, vbr, mp3, aac, whatever i effing want. why would anyone? oh right. the convenience... and now with streaming... i tried my free month. no thanks. and now they want more money for an ad free experience? who could have predicted? who could have ever seen that coming?

    I got a very similar motherboard in 2020, I've been using it since then. It works well. I'm running VMware ESXi 8 on it and at some point I had 41 VMs running, totally fine. One issue I had thought, started recently. I think SATA controller is about to give up. Sometimes disks suddenly disappear and come back later. I hope your one works better! Never tried Windows on it though.

    I got one but I installed Linx mint on it all works great. I am using it for some video editing but mostly graphics design that make up animated movies. What was taking me on average 9 hours, now takes me 3 hours, for a 20m short animation. I fitted it with 2x AIOs I had to make my own brackets out of sheet aluminium to fit them but no problems. I have it set up in my old Cooler master X1 Server case from 2012 they are massive I needed that because it already has my 1200w APU fitted and an 8 bay HDD caribe each having 2Tb storage space all holding files from past jobs and uncompleted jobs I'm still working on. I'm happy with it its much faster than my older setup.

    Been in IT for 27 years and below I'm going to list everything you did wrong... 1: You didn't put the thermal paste on in an anarchy shape. 2: You didn't color match the cable extensions with the orange and black theme. 3: Not only did you not bend the LAN port but you put the I/O plate in before the motherboard. Everyone knows you install the MB then take it back out to install the I/O plate. 4: You failed to bore us with the Windows 10 installation. On a more serious note, try Davinci Resolve, the free one for video editing. Also, find a GPU with the NVENC capabilities. I think your GTX 980 does have it but not 100% certain. Davinci Resolve uses the H.264 encoding support to help render videos using the NVENC chip built into the GPU. This allows you to be able to utilize the GPU for other things while rendering a video. Granted, my RTX 3070 out performs my old GTX 1070 and my laptops RTX 2070 super, it's not leaps and bounds anymore like you witnessed between the CPU upgrades. As for the DDR4 with the tapered ends. That's on all DDR4 RAM.

    Wait for this bro, ALL DDR4 has a curved edge. Also as far as the ATX-12v CPU power connectors are concerned you could have ran one 4 pin to each connector and been fine provided the CPUs didn't use 175-200w per chip all the time, once in a while would be fine for even that though.

    13:45 - They're not "shaved", they're actually tapered. I have a kit of 64gb (16 x 4 dimms) DDR4 and they've got the same tapered ends. I think it's made on purpose for insertion into their sockets. All in all, this board is not too shabby for the price it comes. The only drawback is the Gigabit ethernet, but it depends on what you are going to do with the system. The bios isn't bad also, considering it's a chinese board. I saw a video of a similar system which mounted a 2060 I believe, and under stress it was barely pulling some 300ish watts.

      how is gaming performance on this? i heard on dual cpu it can come to stutters

    • @samohraje2433
      @samohraje2433 11 днів тому

      @@Daniel-ye1ssif you leave some PCIe lanes for "comunication" between those 2 cpus than no. Usually the "comunication" is done via 16+8 PCIe lanes so the each CPU leave you 16 lanes, 32 in total. The " comunication " is not really a comunication but it is synchronization. And the sync is done via memory ( faster memory means faster and more precise sync ) via cache and buses and bus is also a PCIe. But yea.. there is not as much difference because you can occupie both 16x slots and both x4 for NVMe and pc will work anyway. The stuttering comes from misunderstanding between 2 cpus where both cpu request same thing. Nothing speciall... those cpus has error correction already implemented inside but that needs to be done extremely fast othwerwise it will fall in to the request loop and just after few nanoseconds it will freeze. Or both cpu will freeze and you'll have BSOD. But usually this is happening even on 1cpu config, the app itself could be somewhere in the kernel badly written and if you do speciffic moves, it fall in to the request loop.

      Dual CPU is not a good deal for Gaming, most games don't use more than 6 cores. The internal ring that connect the cores on processors with more than 10 cores have issues in Xeon v3 and v4, this is not a bug is a feature. The swich context between the numas is on OS and can charge a lote of overloads. If you don't have a load of work running in parallel to make cores busy two CPUs only bring trobles. The better application for this machine is work with multiples independente systens running in the same machine with virtualization.

    • @samohraje2433
      @samohraje2433 8 днів тому

      @@Prescott2400-my6di you have absolutely no idea brother... Yes, modern games does not require more than 6 cores but higher is always better. Let's just say 8C/16T, absolute sweetspot. You'll leave some cores for the rest of the system so you won't have stutters. On the other hand dual cpu config is only good if you pick a right xeon. You need higher core clock and higher core count. I'm running on dual X5690 cpu, those are 6 cores 12 threads so i have 24 threads in total. What motherboard am i using? I bought from alliexpress X58 dual cpu motherboard with overclocking feature. Pretty rare. I have both cpu clocked at 4.6GHz and i can smoke shit out of the i9 9900KS in workload because i have 8 more threads. In gaming, this cpu sucks because it lacks some instructions but it is kinda fun to work with this pc

Scores faster than threadripper second edition. Multicore always threadripper faster. And i can go up to 4.8ghz ( 240 watt) on 1.35v core voltage on all cores. I dont see why i buy threadripper. I no one aplication that uses multicore scores most times lower dan x99. What i have tested. X99 can run FSB 100/125/166 as bclk😊

      Not sure what that code is off the top of my head but I know when I first powered my system on it has to go through a few initial tests which took some time. I'd say, pull the CMOS battery to reset the BIOS and power it up again but let it run for about 10 min and see what happens. If it doesn't get past that error, pull some of the memory sticks and see if you can get it to boot with just one stick. If that works, power it down, add another stick of memory and see if it boots again. Then repeat. Hope it works!
